Eos Rebel T1i Guide to digital SLR photography April 23, 2010 Bradley S. Watson (DFW, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being new to digital SLR photography I got this book because it was specific to the camera I bought. It has a wealth of information presented in an easy to understand format and even some humor thrown in. It is set up in a way that makes it easy to progress form the simple to the more complex. Within minutes I was going through the menus and snapping pictures. I would definitely recommend this book to those who need more explanation than what's in the information manual that comes with the camera. I look forward to using this book for years to come.
Amazing Book and Author! April 12, 2010 EmbeddedFlyer (Seattle, WA United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Busch must have been born to write books like this. His writing is very clear, comprehensive and helpful. He mixes in just enough anecdotes and analogies to help make the less obvious clear and also lighten up the mood. He has lots of real-world experience to share in this book. Whether the T1i/500D is your first DSLR and you're new to serious photography, or if you're a seasoned pro just looking to learn some of the finer details about the T1i, you'll get a lot out of this book. I've yet to find anything it doesn't cover. My only gripe is there are a couple places where Busch likely mis-quoted content from one his earlier Canon DSLR books. For example he get's the maximum ISO wrong in one place as it's likely the max ISO of a previous model. But I haven't found anything that's likely to lead anyone astray. On the whole, it's remarkably free of errors. If you own the T1i/500D, and are trying to make do with the Canon supplied manual, you owe it to yourself to get this book or a similar one like the Digital Field Guide if you want something a bit smaller.
